AMALIA WELCOMES YOU

Landscape designer and researcher Amalia Robredo  opens her ranch “La Pasionaria” to receive guests who love nature and are committed to the preservation of the environment. La Pasionaria is a research facility where the native flora, its communities and the wild prairies are studied and where the patches of native wood are preserved. In 2010 the GEF (Global Environmental Facility) highlighted it as an area where biodiversity was protected.
The house, planned by Arq. Ivan Robredo, gets its inspiration from the Portuguese forts that can be seen along the Uruguayan coastline. Placed up in the hill overlooking the Ocean and the access to the village of José Ignacio. To reinforce its local identity it was used stone from a nearby quarry and recovered doors, some from the demolished prison of Punta Carretas at Montevideo.
